A FOOTBALL ACCIDENT.

FLAYER'S LEG BROKEN. Just before the half-time tinkled a Easty collision between two of the rep. League men playing on Victoria Park — afternoon caused a fracture of Geo. Yardley's leg halfway between the knee and ankle. The ball was running loose at the time, and Yardley and Stewart charged it together. Each aimed a speculator, and the two legs met, or rather Stewart's boot hit Yardley's leg with a crack that could be heard all over the stand. The men of St. John Ambulance Association came quickly across, and with the help of officials, they carried the injured player across to the stand where first aid attention was given before a motor took him away to the hos pital. Stewart was unhurt.
