I The annual meeting oi the Presbyterian congregations of the Whakatane district, held last evening in the Whakaj tane Presbyterian ChuTch, passed a reaolution favouring tlie proposed union of i the Congregational. .Meihodkt, and Pres- | bytcrian Churches. The grounds for the re-solution, as exprc-aed by various .speakers, were tho formation of Cirr:=tiau fellowship, financial efficiency, the obviating of overlapping, and the ultimate good of the Christian Church as a whole. The 'meeting also passed a resolution protesting against Sunday football within the hearing of the church congregations. ! =r==
