AUCKLAND AND LIBERAL PROGRAMME. WARM RECEPTION. WIDE AND REPRESENTATIVE SUPPORT. LOCAL POLITICAL POSITION. MULTIPLICITY OF CANDIDATES AT ELECTION. Liberal, Labour, commercial and industrial circles in Auckland to-day received the announcement of the Liberal programme framed by Sir Joseph Ward with enthusiastic approvaL As far as could be ascertained on inquiry in representative quarters to-day the main features of the programme are in happy accordance with progressive thought, and the Liberal leader's ■ an- | noUncement in regard to a forward policy in education, roading and railways, co-operative enterprise, and hydro-elec- , trical development are warmly welcomed 'as indicative of a determined and practical programme of reconstruction and development. | Present indications are that there will be a multiplicity of candidates in the Auckland electorates, and the main issue between Liberalism and Conservatism may be to some extent obscured by the advent of new political parties and .doctrines. Appended are accounts of the reception of the main features of the programme in Auckland City and expressions of opinion by leading citizens and representatives '■ of commercial and industrial organisations. *-
