Some time ago a resolution was passed by the Auckland Railways League supporting the Ivaipara Chamber of Commerce in urging the Minister of Public | Works to have the railway construction ij works started again at Kirikopuui. Letj tors were dispatched to the Minister ol I Public. Works, and Sir James Allen, Act-ing-Prime Minister at the time. In his reply to the chairman of tin league, Sir William Fraser expresses pleasure at the league's recognition oi the work done on the Xorth Aucklam Trunk line, between Mangapai am Waiotira. He added that he was push ing on the work from Waiotira north wt.ids to the Wairoti, aud also south wards towards the Golden Stairs anc ' Huavau tunnels.
