% DEATH FROM HEMORRHAGE. • An Inquest on the body of John Me- ■ Donald, who died at the Hospital yes- " terday morning, was held at the City i Mortuary, before Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M. - Deceased was a single man residing at ! 61, Great Xorth Road. Dr. G. G. Russell, who was called in at . about 10.30 yesterday morning, made a , post-mortem, and found that death was I due to hemorrhage into the brain. George Mear, a labourer, living at 61, I Great Xorth Road, stated that yesterI day morning the landlady of the house , asked him to look for deceased, who was - not in liis bedroom. Witness found him i lying unconscious on his hack in the ; lavatory, and carried hira outside and - went for the police. Deceased had not , been ill. Dr. H. L. Gould stated that from the - time that deceased entered the Hospital, - about 11 a.m., he did not regain con- . sciousness, and died within the hour. , The coroner's finding was in accordance with the medical evidence. ELDERLY WOMAN'S DEATH. The death of an elderly woman, Ann West, residing at 3, Kelson Avenue, oil Hobson Street, was the cause of an inquest by the coroner, Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M., at the morgue this morning. Miss West was aged 71 years, nnd resided alone at the above address. Deceased was last seen alive about 8.30 p.m. on the 20th by Miss Hawkins, who resides at Haslett" Streeet, Eden Terrace. She then seemed in her usual state of health. About 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon Mr. C. J. Little, ou account of some information given him by a neighbour, went to the bouse of the deceased and found her . lying on the bed, fully dressed, appar- ( ently dead. Dr. G. (1. Russell made a post-mortem, i and found the cause of death to be pericarditis. ' Mr. C. J. Little stated that deceased, , whom he knew well, had told him to t break into her house if she .were not seen 5 about, as she anticipated dying suddenly. Constable Henry corroborated the cvi- ' dence given by Mr. Little. The coroner's finding was deferred.
