The question of who should pay the cost of the transfer of a mortgage came before Mr. F. Iv. Hunt, S.M., in a case at the Magistrate's Court this jnorning. Mt. Brewer, secretary of the Auckland Law Society, was called, and read a decision of the council of that body that the transferree mu*t pay. Counsel, however, contended that only settled a. principle, but did not a.pply to the speeisftc agreement before the Court. His Worship reserved his decision upon the point. In our report of an assualt ease heard ill the Police Court yesterday it was stated that Thomas Kenealy admitted he had been in Court previously for using abusive language to Kenealy's brother, and had ibeen bound over to keep the peace for twelve months. "Kenealy'e brother"' should have read "Bvers brother."
