The first meetiii}; oE the dramatic circle in connection with tlip women's dub was held on Monday evening. The president of fche circle (Mrs. M. M. McCallum) welcomed the members, and explained the proposed activities of the circle. A management committee' was appointed, consisting of Jlesilames Mi!rallum, tiriffitlis, and Turner, with Miss Holland as secretary and treasurer and Mib3 Hughes-Jones librarian. During the evening: recitations were rendered by Mits. Griffiths and Misses ITughcs-Jones, Merman, GriHitlia, and Buddie, and were much appreciated. Miss Rosenberp, a visitor from Wellington, and a member of the I'ioneer Club in that city, addrcseed the ladies, and congratulated them on their beginning, and thanked them for the cordial invitation -she had received to the several circles.
