It was decided to write to the Council asking thnt the president of the association be appointed ex officio a liiemiber of the committee. A vote of thanks was passed to tbe Borough Counr-il for supplying the ti-ecs which were recently planted near the wharf, and it was agreed to send a letter to Mr. Wilson, headmaster of the Stanley P.ay School, rminkin* hLm for allowing the i-hlldren to be present at the planting ceremony. The Mayoral report was dlscnssed at length, and eventually It was received. The question of a bigger gangway for passengers using the boats at rush hours was discussed very fully, as a good deal of congestion occurred, but it was .pointed out that the present wharf was unsuitable for a gangway to be erected similar to the one at Victoria wharf and ou the city side of the harbour.
