THE NATIONAL THEATRE. Valcska Surntt makes a very satisfactory heroine for "A Rich .Man's Playtthing," the very pretty, exceptionally interesting headliner that holds first place at the National Theatre. "A "Rich. Man's Plaything" abounds in scenes that will appeal to both, the senses and to the emotions. The talcIs a study of a girl very beautiful but humble, and the villain or the hero, one is not. quite sure which, is a rich financier. This beantt'ful picture with its interesting story ts backed toy a rippling comedy tnd several other assorted theme:). THE TIVOL'I THEATRE. Often has a tale been told of a great, priceless Jewel of dazzling beauty, yet which had a cruel history. It is such a stone—a magutflcent emerald—on which the plot of "The Devil 'Stone" 1s set. The picture runs in the first place on the Tivoli programme now, and It Is supported by a well selected series of supports. THE PRTNOESS THEATRE. A good deal of attention Ls being directed to "The Marriage Ring," a story featuring Mlks Enid "Bennett at the Princess picture house. The tale as it trips along has plenty of action, and it becomes strongly dramatic. It Is well supported by both music and films. FULLBRS' VAUDEVILLE. The current bill at Fullers' Opera House Is a havpy medley of individual numbers to take up half the evening, and The remainder is sent flyiug away by the merry antics of Bert I.a Blanc's crew of merrymakers, who play the revue "Keep it Dark." THE STRAND THEATRE. "Miss Norma Talmadge Is the brightest of the leading lights at the Strand Theatre this week, her part being cast as tbe title role of "The Heart of Wetona." The film Is of absorbing dramatic, and emotional interest, and the excellence of its presentation enhances rts other merits. In snipport there is a motley crowd of film themes. THE QUEEN'S THEATRE. T.ig crowds attend the Queen's Theatre every session this week to see "'Eye for Eye." the strange, stirring filmic story in whb-h Madame Nazimova ls the principal Character. A line >U. ol supporting themes backs the lieadiuier. THE LYRIC THEATRE. Seldom has a more fascinating film been presented In Anckland than "Friend Husband,' - the Lyric l.eadllner that Is delighting every movie fan who sees it. The picture 1s a delicious mixture of a hard luck ' tale, a flippant adventure and a struggle between two obstinate people who were specially made for each other. "Hawker's Atlantic Flight" is tbe chief support, EVERYBODY'S.
Everybody's has come -to with a dramatic story that carries the title "Two i Years in Hell," this being tbe tale of a Canadian soldier. Comedy and drama are blended In happy proportions in this interesting subject, which ls very well supported. THE GRAND. "Friend Husband" ls amusing tbe patrons of the Orand Theatre this week, «ud Madge Kennedy ls the 'bride. The story shows a marriage, pieces of tbe honeymoon, and future happiness, aud it ls Thoroughly satisfactory as a headllner. j TIIE GLOBE. Miss Mary Miles Winter is the dainty personality that has pride of place at the Globe Theatre this week, her part being the principal one in the film entitled "The Mate of ihe Sally Ann." The whole programme Is Just as good. THE WEST END THEATRE. The West End submits the acting of Bessie Love in tbe picture "Tbe Heiress of Coffee Dan's." for tbe approval of Us patrons, arid In addition runs the seventh chapter of "Tbe Stlugaree." THE ARCADIA. The Arcadia Theatre runs two big themes. One is "Riddle Gawn." starring Hill Hart, and the other is another fascinating episode of "Wolves of Kultur." THE EOI PRESS. Clara Kimball Young Is tbe beautiful first lady In "The Marionettes," which has first place ou the Empress screen to-day, tomorrow and the next day. A Keystone comedy is the best support.
