CONFINED TO OLD WORKINGS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN", this day. The management of the New Zealand Coal and Oil Company states that the fire Tvhich occurred in No. 2 mine, Kai tangata, on Saturday, is confined to a pinion of the mine. The part affected consisted of old workings which were nearly exhausted. This part has been eealed off permanently.

The mine was working as usual today, and the output of coal will not be affected, the men being transferred to other sections of the mine.
