A reply has been received by Mr. E. F. Andrews, secretary of the Returned Soldiers' Association, from the Minister of Defence to the demand that is made by the association for a full inquiry into the conditions at Fcatherston Camp, aj reported on recently by the committee sent down- The Minister says he proposes to make a statement early next week, but Mr. Andrews holds that no matter what the statement is the association is determined to press for a commission to inquire into all the circumstances. A definite charge has been made against the Government, ho says, and nothing short of an inquiry will meet it.
