There was a lengthy interval from then on until 6.54 p.m., when a telephone message was received at the station to the effect that the Y.M.CA. building was on lire. The brigade was represented by two motors, a large crowd gathering just to see the reels remain a few minutes before returning to the station. The next call, ugain by telephone, was nt 7.35. The person who answered at the brigade end was told that a building on the railway station was on fire. Again the brigade promptly responded to the call, which also proved to be a hoax.
