SIR SIMON ERASER DEAD. MELBOURNE, this day. The death is announced of Sir Simon Frasor, the well-known politician.—(A. and N.Z, Cable.) Sir Simon Fraser was born in Nova Scotia 87 years ago, and went to Australia in his youth, engaging in pastoral pursuits. He was elected to the Victorian Assembly in 1874, was a member of the convention which framed the Federal constitution, and was returned at the head of the State poll at the first Senate elections in Victoria.
