REPATRIATION BOARD.

At the sitting of the Auckland District Repatriation Board, Mr. A. W. Gillies presiding, 49 applications were dealt with in the case of men who either wished to start in business or re-establish those they left to go to the war. All these were granted. Another 37 men were granted advances for furniture, and four [travelling warrants were allowed. Subsidies were granted to nineteen men while completing their apprenticeship, and a similar number received allowances while training in. workshops or factories. In fourteen cases grants were made for books and fees for soldiers studying in schools or colleges. Ten men also received grants for the purchase'of tools.
