LAND IN THE NORTH.
BLOCKS FOR EARLY OPESTXG. The North Auckland Land Board, which concluded its fortnightly sittings [yesterday, was occupied continuously for : two days and a-half, mainly with" the 1 consideration of applications from fi'j* j charged soldiers. This is some indication lof the growth of the operations of the j Board, inasmuch as, notwithstanding ■ that the Board is now meeting fortnightly instead of monthly, the sittings regularly tend to become lontrer. In ■, addition to the 140 items which comj prised the main agenda, no fewer than 151 applications were placed on the supj plementary agenda in order to cope with current business. j The farming lands which will be opened Jby the Board in the near future include ! the Remuera Estate and the Takahue- ! Whangape Block, as indicated in last j night's issue, while it is also probable ! that the Pareokawa Block, comprisins '• good-class bush land, fronting the Wha- ; iumpe Harbour and to the cast of Herekino, in Hokianfja county. will be avail- ' able for selection in the near future. j This block is practically the southerly ! continuation of tlie Takaiitie Block.
