R34'S RETURN.

VOYAGE OF 3 DAYS 3 HOURS. A FAVOURABLE WIND. LONDON", July 14. The naval airship R34 met with a favourable wind on her return trip from America. The journey occupied 75h 3m, compared with IOSh on the outward trip. General Maitland, oflicial observer, interviewed, said: " There were two reasons for the voyage —our friendship for America: and second, to demonstrate the commercial possibilities of airships for long oversea journeys. The airship in this will not conflict with the aeroplane, which is specially suitable for short journeys from the airship's termini. I expect in the near future that airships will seldom land. Instead they will bd moored to immense steel towers.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
