TOWSEY-MITCHELL RECITAL.
I In the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall last evening, before a highly appreciative audience. Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Towsev and Miss Winifred Mitchell gave a most successful vocal and instrumental concert. The programme, though much too loug. contained many gems from the works of ancient aud modern authors. AH of the solos were presented In a style which reflected the highest credit on the performers and gave much pleasure to the listeners. Mrs. Cyril Towsev sang with extreme care , and artistry. S he gave, with devotional spirit aud tinisu. Gounod's "Aye Maria" and tti m I tuou S h t-out reading of Leroni's "Le ! MI, both of which were effectively treated ?S» v ~T 07 !"7 at the Pianoforte and Miss .Mitchell, violinist. Scarlatti's "O Cessate I ' . i, aS!, . rm '" was given with vocal nui*h and flowing movement. Brahms' "Endur- . ing Love" displayed the cautatriee's rich iwV P °o'- c ? f T-, to ° es to advantage. Schtii>( rt s _rl King was graphically rendered he dramatising in SOD g 0 f ttie father, th: | child, and the Erl King being most realistic land convincing.
