BALLOT PROPOSAL REJECTED. THOUSANDS THROWN IDLE. (Received 10.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Brisbane seamen, by an overwhelming majority, rejected the ballot proposal. Kestrictions regarding the use of f?as,! coal, and electric power now operating in I Melbourne have rendered 50,000 workers ; idle. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.) | POSITION UNCHANGED. SYDNEY, June 4. Pending the resumption of the conference in Melbourne to-morrow, the shipping position is unchanged.
