WELLINGTON DIVORCE CASE.

BROOKES V. BROOKES. VERDICT FOR £1250. (By Telegraph.— i Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. This morning, in the Supreme Court, it was announced that the divorce case of Albert E. O. W. Brookes v. Cecilia Myrtle Brookes and Donald McKenzie, in which petitioner claimed £4000 damages, had been settled, co-respondent consenting to accept a verdict of the jury for £1250 damages, with costs. The Chief Justice explained to the jury that the money would not get, to the petitioner, but would be set aside for the benefit of the children, and possibly the wife. Replying to counsel, the judge said respondent, as well as v petitioner, was entitled to costs. The jury returned a formal verdict for £1250 and costs.
