Wilson Ho»" X.Z.M.C., who has been n___ an U.8.E., was born in Xurakina, and was for some years, beiore commencing ais stuaies in tho medical profession, in the service of the Bank of New South Wales in Taranaki and afterwards in the chief office--in Wellington. Colonel Hogg is a man of fine physique, and has always been popular. Mr. Cecil J. Wray, of London, who.has had the honour ot M.B.E. conferred on him is an old Patea boy, being second son of Captain C. A. Wray, who was for many years a magistrate in the southern towns of Taranaki, being stationed at Patea. Mrs. Barton, of Hawera, who also hag had the M.B.E. conferred upon her, ig _ sister-in-law of Mr. Cecil Wray. ! Colonel Charles T, Major, D.5.0., who has been made a Commander of- the Order, is headmaster of King's College at Auckland. He has had a distinguished military career, and'"**durdng the South African war was mentioned in dig- ' patches. He wears the Queen's medal with four clasps, and at present is Commander of the Auckland Infantry Brigade. Colonel J. R. Reed, K.C., Auckland, is Judge Advocate-General to the New Zealand Forces. Colonel Gerald Arnold Ward, C.BE., is attached to the Auckland Military Headquarter*" as commander of, the Auckland Mdunted Rifles Brigade. Lieutenant-Colonel P. O. Andrew, 0.8. E., is Assistant Director of* Medical Services at the Auckland District M_i-~ tary Headquarters. Major Neville Neweomb, formerly _ well-known land agent at Auckland, was in charge of the original Maori camp at ~ Avondale. Subsequently he was given a post as comandant of the Fearherston camp, where his organising abilities were of the greatest advantage. Major Henry Peacock, 0.8. E., is a, member of the General Staff at Auckland, occupying the post of Assistant Quartermaster-General. He was a member of the Expeditionary Forces, in Which, he held the rank of lieutenant. Captain S. Mellows, M.8.E., is a member of the administrative staff at the • Auckland District Headquarters as Assistant Director of Supplies and Transport, N.ZA.S.C. He .was in the Royal Marine Light Infantry on China Station from 1898 to 1901, and was commended by the Admiralty when engaged in the defence of the Legation in June, 1900. He wears the China medal with clasp. \ Major N. J. Rishworth, X.ZD.S., h ' well-known and very popular in Auckland. He went Home in the later stages of the war and took charge, of the_ dental service there till bis return to" Xew Zealand.
