Hungary is to become completely independent, and the new States formed within the old Empire are to be recognised. The terms, with the exception of three clauses still | unnmshed, follow the main lines of the German treaty. The treaty compels Austria to accept the League of Nations and the Labour charter, renounce all extra European rights, lose all military and naval forces, and relinouish for trial all guilty of breaches of the laws of war. Consent to the abolition of the Brest Litovsk treaty is imposed on Austria, and the Allies reserve Russia's rights of future reparation from Austria. Austria is obliged to bring all her institutions into con- ■ formity with the principles of liberty and justice, and to complete civil and religious freedom. Field commissions will be appointed to fix the new boundaries of the various States freed from Austro-Hungarian control, including Czecho Slovakia and the Jugoslav States. Some of the frontiers are fixed, others remain to be fixed by commissions. ' The clauses relating to reparation and the army are to be ' delivered later.
