TRADE APPRENTICES.
A SERIOUS SHORTAGE. (By Telecraph. —Press Association.! WASGAXO. Monday. | The shortage of apprentices aud eon-j sequent present and prospective injury to I -industry in Xew Zealand was discussed at the quarterly meeting of the Chamber j of Commerce this evening. It was resolved to send the following resolution l as a remit to the Chambers of Commerce Conference: ■'That the Government be asked to confer with trades unions; affected with a view of securing such altered conditions in awards as will tend I to make good the shortage of appren-1 tices."' It was contended that if something was not done the time would soon j come when tradesmen would he unprocurable. =
