SHOT THROUGH HEART.
A TERRIBLE MISTAKE. Shortly after 11 o'clock on Thursday night a shooting tragedy was enacted at Cecil Park, about five miles from Liverpool, N.S.VV. The victim of the affair was Mr. Isaac James Lee. The unfortunate young man (he was only 28 years of age) had spent the evening with the family o/ a neighbour, j\lr. William Hossman, manager of Pye's estate at Cecil Hill. He left for his home at about 11 p.m. Pye's estate had lately been visited by thieves, and wild dogs frequently attacked the sheep running in the paddockg near by. After young Lee had departed, Bertram Hodman, 17 years of age, hearing dogs barking in the paddock, picked up a loaded rifle and went outside to investigate. In the thick fog he saw a I moving figure, and, thinking it was a dog, I levelled his rifle and fired. After the I shot he was horrified to hear a voice exclaim "Oh!" Young Hossman ran to the spot, and found Lee in a dying condition. He had been shot through the heart, and be lived but a few seconds.
