Progress reports regarding the Chinese agreement >how that the new divisions of spheres of influence in the Far East ■will be as follows:—British sphere of influence. Thibet, Szu Chuan, and West Siam; French sphere. East Sian Yun Nan, Kweichou. and West ZLuanzmuuz; Japanese sphere, Shantung, Manchuria, and Mongolia. The. agreement opens he Yangtsekiang to the British, French, and Japanese on equal terms. The Chinese desire to sign the treaty ■with the reservation respecting the Japanese clauses touching Shantung and the railways.—(A. and X~Z. Cable.) THE FOUR-POWER LOAN.
