MT. ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the Mt. Roskill Koad Board was held on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs (I. K. Tansley (Chairman), J. Feet. S. Scarborough, E. J. Herd, J.,J. I'reston, ami II Luke. Loan.—The Hon. Acting-Minister of Finance intimated his approval of the Board's application for permission to raise a loan of £18,000 for road works. A letter <viis also received from the Public Trust Olllce consenting to lend the money on the usual terms. Telephone.—lnformation was received from the Post and Telegraph Department that the Hoard's telephone. No. 43<W, may be converted to a party line of two, adding the Board premises, subject to the condition that the connections are converted to two exclusive circuits when the automatic exchanges are Brought into operation. For the party line of two the approximate annual rental would be:— Buisncss connection. £12 li/U: residential, £10 ■J/ti; the Board to pay the initial construction fee of £1 7/<i. A bond would require to be signed agreeing to hold the connection for tine year. Charitable Aid Rate.—The Hospital and Charitable Aid Board rate this year Is to hp one-nfth of a penny in the £. The ratable capital value of the Mt. Roskill district Is £700.220. Any objections to this valuation must be sent to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Hoard before June 5 next. Tenders.— The following tenders for improvements to Pah Road were received:— A. B. Brodle, £1853 15/: C. T. Foley, £1545 IV: ri. Bray aud Co.. £1782 3/4; P. Barry, £17.->S; H. Isherwood. £lto."> 8/.
