HOCKEY.
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The usual meeting of the Auckland Hockey Association was held last evening at the Auckland Sports Club's rooms, there being present: Messrs Kent (chairman), Wilson, Norton, Speight, Fawcett, Johns, Steele, McGregor, Fletcher, and Grayson. The Emergency Committee's action In granting postponement of Training College -junior matches last Saturday, and transfer :of W. H. Connor from SomerveU to Areta, ! were confirmed. The transfer of W. Hill j from Areta to Mount Eden was granted. | St. Aldan's Club wrote regrettlns being I unable to raise a fifth grade team, and It i was decided to withdraw them -trots.. this I grade, and to award the matches set down to the opposing teams by default. J. Sparkes wrote apologising for his conduce on the field last season, and for which he has since been under suspension. It was decided to lift Sparkes* suspension,' as from May 29, 1919, in view of his expressions of regret. . Pukekohe hockey team -wrote asking to jbe aßowed to participate in the 3rd June caxnivaL and it was decided to allow same ou condition that they affiliated with tho I Auckland Association. Final arrangements I were made for the grand carnival to be held Sat the Bemnera grounds on 3rd June, and. j officials were appointed for that day.
