THE DAIRY FARMER.
j (To the Editor.)
Sir, —I would be pleased if you could • find space for a few remarks on the position of dairy company suppliers. I think it unfair to the farmer to make all payments on the butterfat basis when j there are the 'dried milk factories and : cheese factories, which give a lot more to the producer than a butterfat payment. It would mean a big thing for our country if the cheese factories would pay to the supplier whose, cows produce the most cheese, and not the most butter, as butter is a long way behind in value to the producer of either cheese or dried milk. The farmer whose cows will produce the article of most commercial value should receive that value. I wouldjike to suggest that if the supplier wants to leave the amalgamated company he be given the right to withdraw liis share capital by giving the company three months' notice- —I am, etc., CREAM SUPPLIER.
