TAMAKI WEST ROAD BOARD.
The first ordinary meeting of the newly elected fTamaki West Itoad Board was held at the Board office, St. Hellers, on Thursday. Present: Messrs John Clark, L. J. Keys, H. C. Mellsop, E. R. PHMngton and P. Trice. Mr E. R. Pllkington was reman complimented tne members on being returned en bloc.
Kerry Service.—Messrs CVlellsop and Trice reported having attended as the board's Bodies and the Devonport Ferry Company. Several concessions on the proposed time table and wale of fares were obtained. Mr Mellsop strongly stressed the point that this district was still in its Infancy as a residential suburb. It had a great future and it was In the company's Interest that the steady progress the district was now making should be maintained. This could best be done by cheap fares. Football Grounds.—lt was resolved that a letter be sent to the Auckland City Council pointing out that sports grounds suitable for football were available at both St. Hellers and Kohimarama.
