He has been ill in private hospital for six weeks. i Members of the Northern Club yester- ' day entertained at a special luncheon party Mr. X- Alfred Nathan, who has been president of the club for two years, and leaves Auckland on Monday for a visit to England. | 1 The staff of the Rotorua Baths has, ' presented a rug and a case of pipes to Dr. A. S. Herbert, who is leaving Roto-| rua to go to England. Members of the, staff paid high compliment to Dr. Her-1 berts work in treating returned eoldiers, ■ and the doctor in return thanked Went for their loyal assistance. The Rev. 11. C. George, who hae been! in charge of the Congregational Church' in Devonport for two or three years, ia resigning his position, and leaving almost' immediately. Mr. George's good worki among the Rarotongan and other island' soldiers, who were trained at Narrow Keck Camp was fully recognised by the people of the borough. Captain G. McLean Wilford, son of the Hon. T. M. Wilford, arrived by the Main Trunk train this morning, with Mrs. Wilford, on a short visit, and is stopping at the Grand Hotel. Captain Wilford, who enlisted in the early days of the' war, served continuously throughout the whole war period, and arrived home in New Zealand by tie Arawa a. few dava ! ago. * J
