THE MANUKAU ROAD.
?AVDfG SCHEME POLLS TO-DAY IN TWO SUBURBAN DISTRICTS. The ratepayers of the One-tree Hill md Mount Boskill road districts are leciding at the poll to-day whether the oan proposals of their respective Road i 3oardg for the paving with concrete of hose sections of the Manukau Road under their authority shall be proceeded vith, thus ensuring a continuous paved lighway from Auckland to Onehunga. the One-tree Hill Board's loan proposal s for £35,000, and that of the Mount voskill Board £IS,OOO, in each case the iroposal providing for other road construction and improvement work also. Hie section of the Manukau Road which tomes under the control of the One-tree rlill Board is rather more than a mile n length, while the Mount Roskill seclion is a little less than half a mile. A ;hrec-fifths majority of the votes cast evill be necessary to carry the proposal n each district, and both polls close at 5 p.m.
