THE FRENCH MISSION.

NEW ZEALAND'S HOSPITALITY. APPRECIATION EXPRESSED. LONDON, April 0. General Pau, who has just returned from a mission to Australia and New Zealand, took the earliest possible opportunity of calling upon Mr. W. F. Massey as Prime Minister to express on behalf of himself and members of the commission, their very high appreciation of the cordiality of their welcome to New Zealand and of the arrangements made both by the Government and the local authorities in connection with the Mission.

General Pan and colleagues express themselves as having been delighted with their visit to New Zealand. Their only regret was their inability to remain longer in so charming a country among so hospitable a people.— (A. and N.Z. and Reuter.)
