CANTERBURY PRODUCE MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Tress Association.) CHRIPTCHURCH, Tuesday. The weather has broken, with cold southweeterlv winds and heavy showers of ruin, bnt a good fall is doubtful with so sudden a change. Tlie country is badly !n need of rain, but as ! t is so late in the season, rain would probably be followed by frosts, so that little Rrowth iv grass could be expected. Under the circumstances, farmers are nnt sclllue their oats at the prices at present offered, ac they anticipate that a targe qnantity of chaff will be required for winter feedlni. Tlie c is therefore, praetlcslly no business , doing ia oats with Sarmers. At presfent there is no outside demand for chaff. There is no alteration in the position regarding wheat. There U an over-supply of Tuscan as compared w;th Hunters and Pearl, due to the fact tkat only ona price was Hxed, and as iniilere ire now not anxious to buy. brokers are finding difficulty iv placing Tuscan. A fpw more potatoes are offering, and the price is now £5 at country stations for present or forward delivery. More inquiries Bre now coining to hand from northern markets.
