WEDDINGS.
A very interesting wedding took pla« on Monday afternoon at St. Mary's Cathedral, Parnell, when Miss Neville Constance Ihorne George, youflgest daughter of the Hon. Seymour Thorne George and Mrs. Thome George, of ■'Cobham," St. Stephen's Avenue, Parnell, was married to Captain John Gaoe Williams, eldest son of Major Williams of Scorrier, Cornwall. The church had been beautifully decorated with white flowers, interspersed with feathery greenery and pot plants. Over the steps hung a fine floral bell, formed of pink and white asters. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was most becomingly gowned ia a frock of ivory chine silk, with panelled effect, over an underdress of Irish rose point and silver lace- The Court train was held at the shoulders with ostrich plumes, and the softening effect of a beautiful tulle veil, draped froia a. simple wreath of the orthodos ■blossoms, completed the toilet. She carried a shower bouquet of pink and white asters and maidenhair fern. Four bridesmaids (her nieces) —Jocelyn Rid. diford, Nancye Colbeck, Leslie Waller, and Annette Thorne George—looked dainty in their frocks of cream spotted net over baby pink, with wreaths of olive green leaves worn round their hair, and they carried tiny posies of pink roses, oarnations and maidenhair fern. Captain Gage Williams was supported by Mr. Heathcote Helmore as best majj; The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon Mac Murray. Dr. W. E. Thoma» presided at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents. The bride'i travelling suit of navy tricotine, relieved with powder blue, and hat .'to match
A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Peter's Church. Willis Street, Wellington, on Saturday, 22nd March, when Mr Charles Ensell MacKenzie, third son of Professor MacKenzie, Victori* College, was married to Miss Margaret Ellen Wilson, late of Auckland. Tfie l>ride, who was given away by Mr. X S. Goodreds, was attired in white silk, trimmed with pearls, with a wreath of orange blossoms, veil, and shower bouquet of cream roses. Miss L. Lea, the chief bridesmaid, wore a dress of cream ninon and silk lace, and pretty pink liat and bouquet to match. Mr. Cyril Goodreds. of Wellington, acted in the capacity of best man. The Rev. Kempthorne' was the officiating clergyman. After the ceremony a wedding festival was held at the bride's residence, and later Mr. and Mrs. MacKenzie left on their honeymoon trip. The bride'» travelling costume was of saxe blue.
