On Wednesday next at 4 p.m. the official opening will take place of the children's playground in Victoria Park, presented by Mr. John Court to the citizens. The Mayor remarked this morning that the total cost of the playground to Mr. Court had been £1700, and it has already been patronised by a very large "number of children. It promisee to be a
grrat hoon to tlic children of the district, and tlip council intends to appoint a caretaker to look after it in conjiinctiou with other duties in tbe park.
