THE OTIRA TUNNEL.

(By Telegfaph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUKCH, Monday. A deputation waited on the Hon. G. W. Russell to urge the speedy completion of the Otira tunnel, and that a report on the steps necessary for electrification should be secured from Mr. Evan Parry before his departure from the Dominion. The Minister said the arguments of the deputation appealed strongly to him. He would telegraph to Sir W. Fraser to ascertain what steps had been taken in regard to electrification.
