NEW FREEZING WORKS.

A largely attended and enthusiastic meeting of farmers and others interested in the establishment of freezing works at Hicks Buy, half way between East Cape and Cape Runaway, was held at Te Araroa on Saturday. It was decided to erect freezing works at Hicks Bay at an estimated cost of £00,000, the works being capable of dealing with 1000 sheep and 40 cattle per day. A site of 35 acres was secured. It was resolved to form a company, with a capital of £75,000 and 20,000 shares have been already taken up. Provisional directors were elected, and L. O. James and Co., consulting engineers of Wellington, have been instructed to proceed with the plans immediately.
