Tho following resolution was passed at a mooting of the Ponsonby Schools Committee last night: "Taking into consideration the fact that the schools have been closed for a considerable period, during the recent epidemic.'* and also in view of tho tocont report of tho headmaster of the Bayfield School that the closing of tho school is detrimental io the progress of the pupils, the Ponsonbv School Committee emphatically protests against the action r.f the Education Board in closing the schools on Lie occasion of* the Chuutauqua entertainments, more especially so as no public or patriotic purpose is served thereby. We further .protest against tho school committee being ignored in the whole matter."
