INDEPENDENT ODDFELLOWS.
STBOXG FINANCIAL POSITION. 'By Tdegrapli.—Press Association.) IXVERCARGILL, Tucsdaj-. The Independent Order of Oddfe'iowg Orand Lodge annual session was opened to-day, representatives being present from all parts of the Dominion. The balance sheets and reports disclosed a --trong condition of affairs. During the war period the consolidated funds increased by £20,000. The epidemic funeral claini3 totalled £2,000, and war funeral claims to £7,500. All these payments have been made without a levy on members or drawing on the benefit funds. The session strongly protested against the withdrawal of railway concessions from friendly societies' * conferences, especially as it is understood theatrical companies and others still obtain concessions.
