RACE FROM TE __UITI.

The Northern Racing Pigeon Club flew another race on Saturday, the race being from Te Kulti, an airline distance of approximately one hundred miles to the wiunlng member's loft. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster. Mr. Donald, at eleven o'clock, ln a northerly wind, which was all against the birds making good time. The first bird to be timed in was Alessrs. Watson Bros.' Homeward Bound, whlhc reached Its loft at 3.50 p.m., doing the distance in 3h 50m 4s, and making an average velocity of 774 yards per minute. The race was a close one between the first live birds. The following are the times and velocities of the leading birds: Alessrs. AVatson Bros.' blk c Homeward Bound, 3h 50m 4s, velocity 774 yds, 1; Messrs. AVatson Bros.' r.c.e. Wireless, 3h 50m 9s. velocity 773.Syds, 2; Air .1. J. Taylor's bttio h Gambler's Gold, 3h 47m 335, velocity 773 yds, 3. Mr R Hunter's r.c.e. Gold Night, 772 yds; Air R Hunter's b.c.c. Magneto. 771vds; Mr N Craig's r.e.c. Admiral, 71Svds; Air J J Taylor's b.c.c. On the Day. 705 yds; Mr J. J. Taylor's b.p.e. Home Again. 704 yds Next week-end the clnb will fly from Ohakune, all birds to be entered by six o'clock Friday night.

n lie members of the Auckland Flying Club held their third race of the voting bird season on Saturday, the race-point being Te Awamutu. an air-line distance of approximately 82 miles. Weather conditions were adverse to good racing, consequently small velocities were recorded. The birds were liberated by the stutiomnaster ut 1.30 p.m., and faced a strong northerly wind. The winning bird. Mr. C. Splnley's Tornado, accounted for the distance iv 3h 4m 50s. Appended are the results: C. Splnley's b.c.e. Tornado, 788 yds per minute; A. Alexander's p.h. Aerial Queen. 741 yds: 11. Putt, lb.c.h. Blue Gum. 735 yds; C. Afoore's r.h. Red Wing, 728vds: E. Gilbert- r.c. Indian, 714 yds ■ C B. Scott's b.c.h. Richmond, 701 vda- W BiUlng's b.c.h. Follow Up, 62_yds; N Vadddell's b.c.c. , 5.7.8yd5: F. Coster's r.h. .Lucky Lady. N__tyds: <-'. Turner's bk.e. All Black. oSOyds; AY. Harland's b.c.h. Liberty Bell. oOOyds. Eightythree birds competed, representing twelve lofts. Next week-end the race-point will •gain he Te Awamutu.
