"Though Wellington is the headquarters of the two parties contending over the liquor poll," our correspondent writes, "it is not greatly agitated just now by their activities. The leaders on both sides appear to be devoting their efforts to other communities, and tc he leaving the capital city to make up its mind for itself on the issue to be decided next month. As far as can be gathered the opinion of peoplo best informed upon the subject, is that the result will turn rather on completeness of organisation than upon superiority of numbers. It is expected, in other words, that the result will be decided by the electors who abstain from voting. If this is the case, personal enthusiasm and indifference will be big factors in the decision." Miss Boniwell, organising secretary of the Sudan United Mission, will lecture on " African Pioneers " in the Tabernacle School Hall on Thursday evening next. The lecture will be followed by the annual meeting of the Auckland committee of this mission.
