Telegraphic advice from London states that the steamer Bessa sailed last week -or Auckland' direct. MAPOURIKA TO BE RECOMMISSIONED The Mapourika is being reeommissioned at Welliuirton. where she will receive cargo for Auckland. Tbe vessel is expected to leave the southern port some time to-day. ATHENIC DUE AT WELLINGTON TO MORROW. The Shaw. Savill and Albion steamer Athcnlc. bringlnc troops, is expected to arrive at Wellington to-morrow evening, from London. KARA. GA FROM LONDON. The local agents of the Shaw. Savill, and Albion Line advise that the Raranga was to leave London about the middle of March in 'ballast for Now Zealand ports. The vessel is carrying a number of troops, but iiff advice lias yet been received as to the probable time of her arrival here. TITANIA 123 DAYS OUT. The Wellington agents for the barque Titania. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, advise that the barque Titania was 125 days out on Friday from New York, bound for Wellington. NEW VESSEL FOR AUSTRALa-SIAN TRADE. The new Commonwealth and Dominion Line's steamer Port Rowen of 10.350 tons gross register, has been launched. The new vessel is 495 fper long, by 62 feet by 44.3 feet to the shelter deck, and is classed 100 Al at Lloyd's. Tne vessel has a deadweight carrying capacity of 12,0-0 tons. The Port Bowcn was designed for the carriage of frozen meat and dairy produce from Australasian ports. MORE ABOUT THE SEEADLER. An effort will be made to ascertain the condition of the Sceadler, the vessel captured by the Germans aud converted Into a raider. The vessel was sunk off the island of Mopelin, .300 miles from Papeetiv Agents representing the original American owners of the Sceadler recently left for Mopelin to inspect the wreck and ascertain if it is worth salvaging.
