(To the Editor.} Sir, —Your correspondent "Girl in a Family of Ten" would not surely be so foolish as to pay eightpence for a daily return ferry ticket, when by taking a concession card she can visit her relatives as often as she wishes for fivepence. If "she" were a Devonport ratepayer she would no doubt object to have her already burdensome rates raised upon her to pay for the amusement and enjoyment of thousands of people who etc quite able and, no doubt, quite willing, to pay for their own pleasures. —I am, etc., " W.
