WOMEN'S WAR WORK.
REPLACEMENT OF MALES. LONDON, March 14. The Board of Trade announces that the number of women employed in Britain in industries, excluding domestic service, at the end of July, 1914, was 3,270,000, and in April, 1018, 4,508,000, of whom 1,510,000 had directly replaced males. The percentage of females to the total workers employed in April, 11118, was 37 per cent, compared with 24 per cent in 1914.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
