Collect all the odd pieces of soap and shave them down as thinly as possible, and put them into an old jar. When about lib of soap has been collected, pour over half-pint of hot water and stand the jar in a saucepan of boiling water. Stir I well, until the soap has dissolved to thai consistency of honey, then add a littl? of any desired perfume. Pour the mixture into a box (tin preferred) and leave till quite cold. Then bend back the sides of the- box, and the soap will be j in a good firm block. I
