To- morrow*, Saturday, a Maori carnival and sports meeting will be held at the Maori pa, Orakei, to welcome home the returned soldiers of the district. Features of the day will be the native addresses and welcome hakas, poi dances, Rarotongan dances and songs, and a number of novelty events. A programme of athletic events also will be put on, post entries. The ferry service will provide visitors from-the city with easy access to the carnival, as boats run at frequent intervals to Orakei.
