SLAUGHTERWORKS STRIKE.
(•py Telegraph.—Press Association.) WAEROA (Hawke's Bay), this day. i* Chamber hands, numbering 2S, at the Wairoa Meat Works, struck 'last night for an increase of wages. The men ask 2/ an hour, plus five per cent added to the total wages. A conference with the manager failed to reach an agreement. The office staff worked laet night, and' slaughtering is proceeding. ■ ■ ' ■ .
