MAORI SOLDIERS.

TO LAND AT GISBORNE. DISSATISFACTION EXPRESSED. It is understood that arrangements have been made for the Maori draft of the Expeditionary Forces, which has now been about three weeks on the water, en route for New Zealand, to land at Gisborne next month on arrival. This ! has led to extreme dissatisfaction I amongst the North Auckland Maoris, ! from whom the Maori Main Body and j Reinforcements for the first two years of the war were largely drawn. Gisborne has no harbour, and in every respect it is felt that the landing should be at one of the principal ports of the Dominion. When questioned on the subject by a " Star " reporter to-day, the Mayor said he had communicated with Sir James Allen, and was awaiting his reply.
