COLLISION ON BRIDGE.

LADY SERIOUSLY INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HOKITIKA, Wednesday. A serious accident happened on the Hokitika Railway and Traffic Bridge this afternoon. When the train from Rose was approaching Hokitika a motorcar, driven by Mrs. W. J. Butler, with Mrs. A. E. Gregory as a passenger, met the train head on. Fortunately the train was fast pulling up. When a collision appeared to be inevitable Mrs. Oregon- jumped out, receiving a severe injury to her head and right arm, which was badly cruehed above the elbow.

Mrs. Butler, who remained in the car, ■was uninjured, the car being pushed back by the engine, and only the steering gear being damaged.

The condition of Mre. Gregory is very serious.
