THAT ANNOYING WORD "EFFICIENCY."
They are funny people those Americans and Canadians. They hare got the notion that alcohol is bad for Efficiency. Iv hundreds and hundreds ol plants on the great Continent you can't get on. the pay roll unless you certify that you never —NEVER, mind you—enter a saloon. They know that "Beer te a British Beverage, and that but for Whisky, Scotland and Ireland would not be what they are"; and even then •they say: fc No good to us, sonny; it you're not on the -water wagon you i can't come across."
