NEW ZEAIAXDERS ABROAD. (By Our Special Correspondent.), LOXDOX, January 2. j Major F. T. Bowerbank, N.Z.M.C., Is I now attached to X.Z. Command Depot, j Codford. I Col. \V. H. Parker who lias been! D.M.S., X.2.E.F., is returning to the j Dominion, his place behi" taken by Col. C. M. Begg. The Rev. G. C. Cruiekshank, Chaplain! to the Canterbury Regiment, is now \ appointed to Brockenhurst Hospital. The Rev. L. B. Xeale is now serving in Egypt as a Chaplain with the N.Z.E.F. Among those received by King George at Buckingham Palace lately, where the King gave them their decorations, were: \ —Lieut.-Col. Harvey Bell. X.Z.R.8., who received the D.5.0.; Major George I Hume, X.Z. Infantry: and Capt. JosephMteAlister, X.Z.R.8.", who received the j Military Cross. •Lieut.-Col. C. E. K. Mackesy, in com- | mand of New Zealand Training Unite in Epypt, has been succeeded by Major C. Dick. W.M.R., who has just been promoted lieut.-colonel. Major J. L. Reed, X.Z.M.C., is now attached to New Zealand Command Depot. Capt. G. Hovey has been appointed D.A.A.G., N.Z.E.F. Capt. D. H. Bett, X.Z.M.C, is now attached to the N.Z.G.H. Two Assistant Directors of Education have just ibeen appointed—Major H. E. Barrowcloug-h, D.5.0., M.C., attached to the Xew Zealand Division, and Major E. H. Xorthcroft, to the Xew Zealand units in the United Kingdom. A number of New Zealand chaplains have done four years' service with the X.Z.E.F.: —Rev. C. J. Bush King, Rev. C. J. J. Dobson, Rev. E. E. Maiden, Rev. | J. Ross. Rev. C. E. OH. Tobin, Rev. W. Wainonn. Rev. A. G. Irvine is returning to Xew Zealand doing duty on board a transport. Bishop Neligan has a6ked and received his discharge from the N.Z.E.F. A laudatory article appears in the "Daily Mirror" describing the work of women street patrols, in which it says: j "The first women to obtain recognition from their own military authorities as street patrols were Xew Zealanders, ■who would certainly desire to be namei leee, but who have now become well: known figures in the night world ot London, and who have accomplished; most remarkable ■work." The ladies in question are:—Mrs. Fraser (of Dunedin), Mrs. MeHugh (of Auckland), Mies Ballantyne (oi Wanganui), whose work was described at length over six monthe. ago by our correspondent.

Mr. A. Parker, now Lieut. R.X.R., left New Zealand as a sergeant in the 3rd Reinforcements, N.Z.F.A., and after wearing khaki for 20 months, transferred to the R.X.V.R., and later on ; transferred to the R.N.R. for minesweeping duties, and has been engaged I in this branch of the service ever since, and from all appearances is likely to be engaged in it for come considerable time to come. He is an old boy of the U.S.S. I Boys' Training Ship, Dartford, and while in this country has been success-; ful in obtaining his master's certificate. He intends also, before returning, to sit for extra master, and if possible to take a marine surveying course at Greenwich Royal Naval College.

Mrs. Meldrum is staying at Carlton Hotel, Bedford Square, Bloomsbury. Her husband, Brigadier-General Meldrum, is commanding New Zealand mounted troops in the Allenby campaign in Asia Minor.
